NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. is hereby given that at a Special -1-1 Meeting of the Wellington City Council, held on THURSDAY, 17th February, 1927, the following resolution was passed: The Wellington City Counc pursuant to the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 192G, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920. and its Amendments, and the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (if any) it enabling doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order:— 1. That a Special Loan of Four Thousand Pounds '. £4000) to be known as "The Wellington City Unemployment Loan, 1927, be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of carrying out public works for the relief of unemploy ment, namely, street construction on Alexandra road, Hornsey road, and other streets, the object of the Local Authority in undertaking such street works being primarily to provide employment for men who would otherwise be without employment or without sufficient employment to enable them to maintain themselves and the* families in' a reasonable condition of comfort. 2. That the interest on the said Loan be a rate not exceeding Five Pounds Ten Shillings (£5 10s) per centum per annum, payable half-yearly during th*- currency of the said Loar being a period not exceeding ten (10) years from the 31st Day of March, 1927. 3. Th;u a Sinking Fund ot One Pound (£1) per centum per annum be established i. tonuection with ths said Loan. i. That the security for the interest, sinking fund, and, other charges and repayment of the said Loan be a special rate on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City if Wellington, so calculated as to yield interest and sinking fund and other charges on the said Loan and 10 per cent, additional on these amounts. 5. That Forty (40) debentures each for one hundred pounds (£100) and relative coupons in a form in conformity with the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, be executed, sealed, and issued. 1 And notice is hereby given that the Resolution will be submitted for confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the Wellington City Council, to be held on THURSDAY, 17th March, 1927, at the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Cuba street. The Short Title of this Bylaw is "The Wellington City Bylaw No. 54 (amendment), 1927." The object and purport of the Bylaws are: (a) Requiring all taxicabs in the City to affix taxi-meters. (b) Prescribing rules for conduct and maintenance of taxi-meters. (c) Prescribing maximum fares for taxicabs in the City. (d) Increasing fees for use of taxicab, express, and cab stands. (c) Requiring all motor vehicles in the City to be fitted with effective silencers and prohibiting use of cut-outs. (f) Requiring exhaust pipes of motor vehicles not to discharge downwards and not to emit unreasonable amount of smoke. And notice is hereby given that the resolution will be submitted for confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the Wellington City Council to be held on Thursday, the 17th day of March, 1927, at the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Cuba street, Wellington, at 8 p.m. A full copy of the said Bylaw is deposited at the office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, and may be inspected' there by all persons during ordinary office hours.
