Senior grade inter-club competitions under the auspices of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association were played on the Miramar courts on Saturday with the following results:— MIRAMAR V. LYALL BAY. Miramar players mentioned first. Men's Singles.—Wilson beat Matthewson, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3; Smyth beat Clark, 6-1, 6-2; Stevens beat Marshall, 6-5, 2-6, 6-3; Penlington beat Swinburne, 6-4, 6-5. Ladies' Singles.—Mrß. Penlington beat Mrs. Marshall, 6-5, 4-6, 9-5; Mrs. Campbell j beat Miss Pain, 6-5, 64; Mrs. Brown beat .Mrs. Clark, 6-1, 6-1; Mrs. Heald beat Miss Whisker, 6-2, 6-2. ' Men's Doubles.—Wilson and Smyth beat Matthewson and Clark, 6-0, 6-2; Stevens and Penlington lost to Marshall and Swinburne by default. Ladies' Doubles.—Mrs. Heald and Mrs. Campbell lost to Mrs. Marshall and Miss Pain, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6; Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Penlington beat Mrs. Clark and Miss Whisker, 5-6, 6-0, 6-1. Miramar won by 10 matches to 2; 21 Bets to 6, 149 games to 89.
