ANOTHER EXHIBITION
VENTURE AT NEWCASTLE (From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, 26th January. What is to bo called tho North-East Coast Exhibition is to be held in 1928 at Newcastle, and Mr. C. P. Hainsworth, who was manager of the South Seas Exhibition, has been appointed general manager and organiser. At a public meeting, at which the Duke of Northumberland presided, Mr. Hainsworth explained the project. They would erect, he said, attractive pavilions to house the exhibits of all kinds, drawn not only from lonal sources, but from elsewhere in Great Britain and the British Dominions. Then there would be an art gallery, where works of art could be housed, for no exhibition of that character was ■ complete without such a gallery. There would also be an attractive hall, where various kinds of indoor gatherings could be held, such, as concerts and dances; while a garden club was essential, besides bandstands and various other structures; also a sports area 5 for big open-air events, sports meetings, pageants, a military tournament, and pyrotechnic displays; and an amusement park with up-to-date devices of a clean ard wholesome character. Mr. Hainsworth has been giving to the Northern newspapers some details of the Dunedin Exhibition. [ 85, Fleet street.
