AUCKLAND, 12th March. A heavy heat shower, just at starting time made the wickets for cricket soft and tricky, with the result that at Eden Park it was a bowler's day. Graf ton and Ponsonby, the batting sides, were dismissed by Parnell (234) and Eden (428 for four) for 135 and 120 respectively, the two first mentioned teams winning on the fust innings. Shore B fared even worse being dismissed for 135 and 49 by Y.M.C.A. (286), who won by air innings anil 102 runs. At North Shore the home team was dismissed by University for 179, in reply to the students' score of 277.
