The visiting team of New South Wales bowlers was entertained at .1 very successful smoke concert by the Wellington Bowling C'entro in the* Wellington Bowling Club's pavilion last night. Mr. S. M. Stone (president of the centre) occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance. Mr. Stone proposed the toast of "The Visitors." New Zealand bowlers, ho said, were always pleased to have Australian bowlers here, because when New Zealand bowlers visited Australia they were always treated right royally. (Applause.) They hoped that the visitors would have an enjoyable time here. The name of "Anzae" indissolubly and eternally linked Australia and New Zealand together. (Applause.) He congratulated the New South Wales team on their two wins of the day. Mr. J. Scott (president of the New South Wales Bowling Association), replying after the toast had been drunk with enthusiasm, stated that the New South Wales team heartily appreciated all that had been done for them. They had had a most enjoyable time while in the country. Such visits cemented friendship and brought both countries nearer to one another. (Applause.) They were pleased that Mr. Hardley (president of the D.8.A.) was accompanying them on their tour, and they regarded this as a great compliment. He considered that the Australians were not in the same class as Now Zealand so far as bowling was concerned. New Zealand had better greens, and there was greater keenness and competition here. Everywhere his team wont they met the man who was the champion bowler of New Zealand. (Loud laughter.) They were pleased to meet the New Zealandeiu, and would take their losses in as good a spirit as their wins. (Applause.) Mr. W. Glendinning (president of the Wellington Bowling Club) proposed the toast of the "Dominion Council," and response was made by Messrs. J. W Hardley (president D.8.A.) and J. m' Thomson.

During the evening an excellent musical and elocutionary programme was provided by Messrs. E. J. Hill C. Moore, M. Marks, Harrison Cook,' D* Lavin, Brockenshiro, and Len Barnes.

Ihe visiting bowlers met representatives of the Victoria, Hataitai, Island Bay, Lyall Bay, Kelburn, andSeatoun Clubs on tho Victoria Club's green yesterday afternoon, and, playing again their wonderfully consistent game of the morning at Thorndon, ended the day with a substantial margin of points to their credit. The results were as follow (the visitors again being mentioned first)Hyland, Ellis, Thome, Thorpe, 22Herron, Bennett, Taylor, Feilding, is' Andrews, Smith, Yates, Scott, 19Redmond, Webb, Marks, Gray, 11 ' Hardy, Parkes, Park, Witherden, 14; Webb, M'Kolvie, Duff, Bradley, 16. Benson, Matthews, Oronin, Farmer Ai; Jionnedy, Hunt, Barber, Reid 15 Totals: New South Wales, 77- Wellington, GO. Tho New South Wales bowlers will leave by motor on Monday morning for Napier and Gisborne, and from there will go on to Opotiki and Tauranga, en route to Auckland. They will be accompanied throughout the trip by Mr. J. W. Hartley (president oi the Dominion Bowling Association) and Mr. J. Thomson (president of the Carlton Club, Auckland).
