TO-MORROW'S CEREMONY

IN PARLIAMENT GROUNDS

GREAT GATHERING OP SCHOOL

CHILDREN

At 11 o'clock to-morrow there will be' a great gathering of school children, Boy • Scouts, and Girl Guides in Parliament Grounds. The chairman of the Wellnigton Education Board (Mr. T. Forsyth, M.P.) -will preside. Mr. J. B. Hopkirk -will be grand marshal, and in complete charge of the arrangements. ; The handsome silk Union Jack received some years ago from Wellington in Shropshire will be placed on the table in. front of the Royal Party. The Koyal Party is to enter the grounds by the Lambton quay main gateway, and will proceed to the dais. The following is the programme to be followed: — v (1) When the Koyar Party is seated the National Anthem will be sung by the school children. (2) Presentation of a 'bouquet to the Duchess of York by Miss Sheila Coates. .(3) Flag demonstration and cheers. (4)" Inspection of school children by the Duke and Duchess of York. (5) Song, "Land of Hope and Glory." (6j Inspection of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. (7) Flag demonstration and cheers. (8) National Anthem (band). (9) Flag demonstration as Royal Party retire by Molesworth street gate and Molesworth street. Musical selections will be played by the band of H.M.S.; Renown. Mr. E. Douglas Taylor, A..R.C.M., will conduct the singing of the children. Mr. J. J. Clark is to be in charge of the arrangements for, admission and for the maintenance of order.

GROUNDS STRICTLY RESERVED,

The Parliamentary Grounds will, be closed on Tuesday morning prior to the ceremony, and the public will be excluded from the whole area occupied by the school children. Only 1 the space on and behind the platform, and on the steps behind, will be occupied by guests. This will-not only protect the children, but will enable the public from the streets surrounding to obtain a much better view of the ceremony. All avenues of exit from the positions occupied by the. schools will be kept clear, so that nothing may interrupt the march of the school children to the gates after the ceremony.' •

THE RENOWN AFTERWARDS.

The children of all city schools will be dismissed after marching back to their places of assembly.

All children in the ranks who have arrived by train will be marched in schools to Shed No. 35, where food will be provided, under the management of Mr. Darroch and friends of the Navy League. ' •

Immediately afterwards, the school children will visit the Renown; the numbers, however, will ;be so great that it will be necessary to keep them "in strict order of admission to the warship. " ..:"•■'
