ACCIDENT AT MASTERTON

MASTER/TON, This Day. During the shunting operations at the Masterton .Station this morning an empty train ran into an empty stationary train with the result that one carriage was telescoped and another whs pushed off the line. It was thought that the work of clearing the line would take at least two hours, and that it might delay matters in connection with tho Royal visit timed for 1.10 p.m. However, wrecking gangs were quickly at work and by 12.45 the lino was cleared It is intended that the Royal party should leave the train at Opaki, a few miles north of Masterton, and motor to Masterton.
