ST. DAVID'S DAY CELEBRATION.

The celebw.tion -of St. David's Day by the Wellington. Welsh Society at Dustin's was attended by a large number of Welsh people. Amongst the visitors were Mr. and Mrs. JBowen, of New Plymouth; Mrs. Griffiths and son, Hastings; Mr. Lloyd Dunedin; Dr. and Mrs. Richards, Wellington; and Mr. Morgan, Johannesburg (South Africa). The chairman (Mr. M. Evano) read apologies from Mr. G William and Mrs. and Miss Lewis, who were unable to be present. In his address Mr. Evans welcomed, all present, and urged nil Welsh people to join the society. A first-class programme of musical items was performed by the Welsh Choir and the following artists:—Mesdames Wilman, M. Andrews. Mrs. M'Leod, Miss B. Evans, and Miss Techeney, pianoforte duet. Miss Tucker, and Messrs. H. Illingworth, J. Tucker, V. Jones, N. Evans, and the Rev. Mr. Evans. The choir, under tho leadership of Mr. Aked, rendered two Welsh glee songs, "I was Tossed by the Winds" and "Let the Hill Resound." The community singing was enjoyed by all. Refreshments were provided, and a very enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the eingiiiK of the Welsh and English National Anthems.
