A representative meeting of citizens at the Town Hall to-night, at which the Mayor presided, formed : branch of the New Zealand Timber Industry Advancement Lcagu- Among the speakers was the organiser of c league, Mr. W. E. Turnbull, who detailed the growth of the league elsewhere. The following resolution was unanimously carried: '-That the Government bo asked to make the - discussion by Parliament of the findings of the Tariff Commission a ; latter of urgency, bringing it on immediately the report is received."
