THE PEAYER BOOK
POSITION OF DELICACY
(United Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, 25th February. The Lower House of Convocation heavily defeated a proposal to retain the bride's promise to obey her husband in the revised Prayer Book. The House of Bishops, will consider the convocation's proposals on 22nd March. The "Daily Telegraph's" ecclesiastical correspondent states that the evangelical leaders have decided to resist with determination the new Prayer Book at the Church Assembly in July. They feel that the decisions of the convocation have gone seriously against them. Anglo-Catholics are equally dissatisfied. The Primate conferred with'the leaders of both parties, but the outcome was not revealed. There will be a position of extreme delicacy if the v parties persist in resistance. :
