VICTORIA V. ST. ALBANS

Saturday was a gala day at the Victoria Bowling Club's green, for four rinks from the St. Albans Bowling Club, Christehurch, had ar-rived early by the Maori to play their annual match with Victoria. During the luncheon, which was served at the club's pavilion, Mr. Marcus Marks, the president of the Victoria Club, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors. He expressed the wish that the visits between the two clubs ■ would long continue. Mr. S. Stone, president "Wellington Bowling Centre, on behalf of bowlers of Wellington, and the Mayor (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood) expressed similar sentiments. ■ Mr. T. Kendall, president St. Albans Club, thanked these gentlemen for their kind remarks and wishes, and the Victoria Club for their hospitality. Mr. Angus, vice-president St. Albans Club, on behalf of his club, presented the Victoria Club with the silver kitty for safe keeping till they brought it back with them next year to Christchurch. Two games were played^ one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
