SEVERE EARTHQUAKE
GISBORNE-OPOTIKI ROAD BLOCKED (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OPOTIKI, This Day. A severe cart-quake was felt here at" 3.18 this morning. It lasted for about a minute. There was no damage, 'lieyond a few instances of brokoi crockery. The Gisbornc-Opotiki road wsa blocked by. an extensive slip on the Mercmero Hill. Oo .lmunieation is ,► being maintained by cars connecting & both sides of the slip.
