THE KARITANE FUND
LAST WEEK OE FLAG' SALE
The organiser of the Karitane Fund campaign reports that the operations are proceeding not only smoothly but highly successfully. Excellent results «tre reported by the ladies engaged in the selling of the popular '' baby flags," and the sale will be continued till next Saturday. It is the aim gf the canvassers to have every window in Wellington ' decorated—an objective, which, if achieved, will make no small contribution to the colour of the decorations during the Boyal visit. Besides the returns from the sale of. flags, contributions aro coming in well. It is hoped that the fund will be completed when the institution is opened on Monday week by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of York, and the labours of the organiser and his'staff'will be very heavy during . the closing stages. It is therefore desired that those who are willing to help should assist when possible by anticipating the calls to be made upon them, and purchasing the flags for themselves :iither at the shops where they aro stocked (as indicated by window signs), or from the office ,of the appeal in the Union Bank Chambers, or by sending their donations to the organiser at that address. The telephone number of the office is 41-600.
