PETONE BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.
f- — ■ : A meeting of the executive of the Petone_ Beautifying Society -was held last evening. There was a large attendance, the Mayor (Mr. J. W. M'Ewan) presiding. _ The balance'sheet of the Christmas Carnival -was presented, and showed a profit of £221, leaving the society with a fund of £306. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the secretary, Mr. 0. "Bilberry,' for his jßervices.
