The selection of the New Zealand .cricket team for the tour to England was made in Christchurch yesterday afternoon after the selectors (Messrs. W. S. Briee, Wellington; ,W- &• Patrick, Canterbury; and !F. Williams, Otago). had paid a visit to the practice nets to finally try out a Canterbury colt who had made a late appearance as a likely slow bowler for the team.! They were satisfied that the young player was worthy of a place, and the team was announced as follows:—! C. r. W. Allcott (Auckland), F. T. Badcock (Wellington). R. C. Blunt (Otago). W. Cunningham (Canterbmy). C. Dacre (Auckland). J C. S. Denrfister (Wanganui). M. Henderson (Wellington). K. C. James (Wellington). T. C. Lowry (Hawkes Bay). H. M. M'Girr (Wellington). '', W. E.
