AUCKLAND, This Day. In an editorial to-day's "New Zealand Herald" says: "The reply of the .uon. &.. fc. Williams to a certain deputation, better left unnamed, ought to give a salutary check to those who think that by a bribe of election votes they can induce money for public works to flow to their districts. At every appearance of this bargaining spirit there should be as frank and fearless a statement by any member of. the Government so approached."
