WATER FOR GISBORNE

GISBOBNE, This Day. Proposals for the augmentation of the Gisborno water supply were presented to the Borough Council last evening in a report by Mr. Leslie H. Eeynolds, in collaboration with the municipal engineer, Mr. A. Young. Alternative schemes were submitted. The first embraced a supplementary supply of underground water from Matawhero and a special service reservoir, the total cost being £49,730. The second proposed the construction of a new reservoir at To Arai headworks, to increase the discharge capacity of the present main and service reservoir. The total cost of this^Tvouia be £108,670,
