RED CROSS ACTIVITIES.
. The Wellington Executive of the British Bed Cross and Order of St. John met yesterday afternoon, Mr. J Burnett presiding;- The following were present: Mrs. Adams.,-Mrs. L. Blundell. Miss Lowe, "Mr. -D.'- C. Clarke','Mr. Shirtcliffe, and Mr. Galloway (secretary). A letter from the , general manager of the milk department was received, agreeing to let the Red Cross Home have milk at wholesale prices. The December report stated that the Commercial Travellers' Club and the Savage Clvb Jhad' raised ' £90- for aid to the poor ;at Christmas, arid some was being Held for -future 'aes'ervirig cases. Matron Thurston's report mentioned gifts received from Hatuma, Porangahau, and Waipukurau, and from Mrs. Broad. Thirty men were receiving the tobacco issue.
