CAUSING ANXIETY
NUMBER OF MOTOR ACCIDENTS

..GBRISTGHUKCH, This. Day. The people of Christchureh were congratulated by Mr. Justice Adams 'on the small calendar presented at the criminal sessions, which opened to-day. "It is the smallest calendar I have had to present to a Grand Jury since I came to. the district," he said. All the cases, .except one, '. had arisen out of street accidents, and this fact was commented on by his Honour. He said those cases, were in a class that was causing anxiety on account of the heavy toll of human life involved.
After reviewing the charges, lie said that they were all very regrettable accidents. Apart from' the question of criminality or otherwise, -they were alarming on. account of the increase in the number of accidents of that nature. . . - .
