MANY CANDIDATES.

Possibles and probables for the New Zealand tour have _been many, and opinions regarding the make-up of the team are also many, and-varied/writes Not Out./;'..-. Form in representative matches,is ..bound to weigh. considerably with the, selectors,; but there will be other-considerations, and it may be that some players who have not been at their best this season will have the chance that is,due to them. For the betterment ,of play and players in New Zealand tins tour offers the chance of a lifetime, and it also presents the great opportunity-of gaining better recognition of ; New Zealand cricket. Players who, are likely to impress on the tour are required so that- the tour will be as successful as possible from the playing point of view. For that reason the .team should have a solid backbone, but at the same time room niight be found for some of the youneer players, who; are likely to benefit most by experience gained, on this tour. Then, it is very necessary in Vle. w °f. fte.. big programme mapped out, that the players shall be in proper condition for the tour. These, and other_ matters, will no doubt be borne in mind by the selectors in their deliberations, and they should be able to' find a team that will not only do credit to the Dominion, but will also be the means of placing the game in this country on a much better footing.
