VIENNA, 7th February. " A novel climax to a performance of "Othello" in a Budapest theatre: resulted when. Othello carelessly soiled Besdemona's gown, with.his blackened limbs and hands. Othello,.irritated by, the rebuke, treated Desdemona with unnecessary violence in the smothering scene, causing the heroine to jump up in bed and bos Othello's ears. Othello fell, and Desdemona assumed a sparring attitude, causing Othello to shout "Curtain. 5'
Thus far, the audience, unfamiliar „ with Shalcespeare's play, followed the incidents with unabated interest, but when Desdeniona threw heiself on the ~ \- bed weeping, and the real husbund ap-'V.'V; peared on the stage to. comfort her, it \ was obvious something was wrong, and „ " the curtain was hurriedly lowered. "V ' The sequel was an action, Desdemona k- ■! suing Othello for damages, but tho :'-"''-, Judge secured a reconciliation. ~ •
