The Department .of Health lias received' the following notifications of cases of infectious diseases in ■ the. hospital districts of the Wellington Health District for the week ending yesterday- (the. figures for the previous seven days being given in parentheses):— ' .'-■■. Taranaki-Hqrowhenua: Scarlet fever, 4 (1); diphtheria, i (5); erysipelas, 1 (0); pneumonia, 2 (2);. tuberculosis, 0 (1); ophthalmia neonatorum, 0 (1). Wairaiapa-East Cape: Diplitheria, 2 (1); enteric fever, 1. (2); tuberculosis, 2 (0)----erysipelas, 1 (0): poliomyelitis, 1 (0); lethargic encephalitis^ 1 (0); puerperal fever, 2 (1); scarlet fever, 0 (1): pneumonia, 0 (2). • Central Wellington: Scarlet fever, 5 (1); diphtheria, 2 (7);-tuberculosis, .3'(0). Nclson-llarlborough: Diphtheria, 1 (0).
