EMPLOYERS' PROPOSALS
(United Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, 7th February. In view of the Balwin Government's proposed reform of the trade union laws the Engineering Employers' National Federation proposes the following:— (1) Trade unions should be liable for damages in respect of tortious acts committed by them or oir their behalf. (2) Breaking of contracts of employment in furtherance of trade disputes should be actionable. (3) In connection with political levies, provision should be made for contracting in instead of contracting out. . (4) Mass picketing and picketing of houses should be illegal. The federation adds that provident funds should not be available to moot claims in respect of damages.
