Butter.—New Zealand,-new season' unchanged, 172s to 1745; stored,'practically cleared, nominally 166s to 16Ss; steady demand, improving. Australian, finest salted, 166s to 170s; unsalted, 170s to 174s Argentine, finest, 156s to 1625. Dutch, unsalted, 198s to 200s. Danish, 188s. Retail price Danish advanced to Is lOd. Now Zealand, unaltered, Is Bd. * Improved Continental demand, especially Germany, where home production decreasing. Demand mostly undergrades meantime., .. :..'. "Cheese.—N.Z. Board prices unchanged. Finest white, 945; coloured,. 955. ■ First grade, 93s to 945. Market firmer. Canadian white and coloured, finest 98s to 100s, exceptional 102s; Australian finest coloured, 92s to 935; English' finest farmers, IOSs to 112s; steady demand. Retail prices unchanged.
"Holding butter prices January enabled quick clearance all cold stored at reasonable prices. Clearance now completed. This most desirable many reasons, including board's advertising programme:',-Pro-cess clearing stored -has affected ".sales Fernleaf brand.- Canadian 1 cheese now practically cleared, leaving Now Zealand entire market. Steady market makes' buyers- disinclined purchase beyond week supply, thus extending period clearance board's accumulation January. - Result, however, much healthier market conditions. Expect larger . sales hereafter, but probably require carry proportion accumulation little longer. ■ ' ' -•' The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: — "Butter: New York, 52 cents (2s 2d); Montreal, iOY2 cents (Is SVid); San Francisco, 47 cents (Is Hid): Vancouver, 38% cents (Is 7%d). .V '.
