LAMB DISAPPOINTS

The Auckland provincial amateur ath^ letic and cycling championships were held at the Domain to-day, in ideal weather. Most\ attention was focused on the appearance o£ E. W. Lamb, the Victorian champion cyclist, F. Grose (Ghristchurch), New Zealand champion, and J. Douglas (Gisborne). Lamb was both disappointing and unlucky. He won his heat in the one mile championship in 2min 4 l-ssee. but in the final, when lying about fifth, and too far back to catch Byrnes, the winner, he had his front tire punctured, and fell. He hurt a knee slightly, and" did not compete again. Results:— 100 yds Championship.—A. J. Elliott, 1; L. C. Williams (holder), 2; J. C. M'Coy, 3. Won by a yard, two feet separating Williams from M'Coy. Time, 10 2-ssec. 220 yds Championship.—A. J. Elliott, 1; H. M'Coy, 2; J. C..M'Coy, 3. Won by a yard and a half, inches separating the two brothers.

440 yds Championship.—A. C. Garlick, 1; T. E. Henry, 1; J. L. M'Coy, 3. Time, 52 2-ssec.

BSoyds Championship—G. Kells, 1; K. M. Griffin, 2 ;E. C. Leikis, 3. Three yards each way. Time, 2min 2sec. One Mile Championship.—J. W. Sayidan, 1; G. Kells, 2; A. Donovan (Hamilton), 3. Won by twenty yards, Donovan being twelve yards back. Time, 4min 28sec.

Three Miles Championship.—J. W. Savidan, 1; G. Kells, 2; E. L. Brown, 3. Won easily. Time, 15min 25sec. 120 yds Hurdles Championship.—J. W. Shirley, 1; B. M. Murray, 2; H. Roper, 3. Won by a yard, three yards between second and third. Time, 16 2-ssec. 100 yds Ladies' Championship.—Miss M. M'Neil, 1; Miss Dick, 2. Won by two yards. Time, 13sec. 440 yds Hurdles Championship.—A. C.
