DE LUXE THEATRE.

One o£ the most interesting circus itories ever screened in Wellington, j "Spangles," is being shown at the- Do ' Luxe Theatre. The story is centred "round- life in AI. G. Barnes's famous o American circus, in which a girl nicknamed "Spangles" is the star bareback rider. The plot contains a love triangle, more interesting: than usual, and there is an elephant, a huge, bad monster, which ■ splays;a:very prominent part in the solution of a problem which at first looks unsolvablo Marian Nixon, Pat O'Malley, and -Herbert Bosworth are the leading .players, supported by a number of very-expert circus performers. On the programme is also an International News, giving scenes of Sir Alan Cobham's return to London, as well as interesting pictures of the United States navy, while the comedy is one of Buster Brown's funniest, efforts. The Orchestra De Luxe, under the leadership of Miss A. Bryeirs, plays a selection from "The Fortune Teller" (Herbertj) as the overture, and Leon Jessel's "Parade of the Tin Soldiers" as the entr'acte. "SPARROWS." Mary Pickford, commencing next Friday at the De Luxe Theatre, with a monster' matinee on Saturday at 2.30, will be seen in the characteristic role which has endeared her to moving picture patrons in every civilised country.; "Sparrows" •■ is full of the drollery .and is treated with that wide range of genius for which Mary Pickford is famous.
