PROFESSIONALS EXCLUDED

(United Press Association.—Cooyright.) NEW YOKE, sth February.

The annual meeting of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, held at Philadelphia, adopted the executive committee 'a amendment excluding Eichards from the 1926 ranking list.

Miss Mary Brown is not included also in the list, which gives the following ten: —W. T. Tilden, M. Alonzo, T. Harada, W. M. Johnston, Chandler, "White, S. Chapin, B. I. C. Norton, Lott, and King. Of women players the first five are:—Mrs. M. Mallory, Misses E. Byan, Goss, Bayard, and Mrs. S. Chapin.

The date of. the national singles is 12th September, at New York, the Davis Cup challenge, Bth, 9th, and 10th September, at Philadelphia, and the national doubles on 29th August, at Boston.

The president of the association, jtfr. Mersereau, said: "Neither financially nor from the point of view of the public interest has professional tennis been a success in proportion to the time and expense involved. Tour officers refused to be stampeded by this new diversion from the amateur game."
