The New Zealand Meat Producers iioard has received the following cable from its London office dated 4th February, advising Smithfield delivered prices. Any movements on the week are shown in parentheses. The prices received by the Meat Board are as follow:— New Zealand wethers and maidensCanterbury quality, selected brands, 56/ under (old season), 6%d; 57/64, not quoted;- 65/72, 6d (down %d). Other brands (new season), 56/ under, 6%d; 57/64, 6%d; 05/72, 6'/4d. New Zealand owes (old season): C4/under, 4d (down %d). New Zealand lambs: Canterbury quality (old season), 30/ under, 10d; 37/42. B%d; 43/50, 7 1Ad (down %d); seconds, 7d. Selected brands, not quoted. Other brands, first quality (new season), 42/ under, 10% d; seconds. 9%d. New Zealand beef: Ox fores, 3%d; ox hinds, 4d; cow fores and hinds, not quoted. Argentine chilled beef: Ox fores, 4d (up %d); ox hinds, 5%d (up Id). Argentine frozen beef: Ox fores, 3Jd; ox hinds, 4d. Frozen pork. 80/1201b, 8d; 120/1801b, 7%d-. Frozen veal: Not quoted. Mutton market: Wethers steady with fair demand. There has been a better demand for ewes owing to reduction in prices. Beef: Market lias been over supplied with chilled. beef. Increase in prices is only temporarily, and is owing to the fact that carrying steamers have been delayed by bad weather.
