EVEXISTG POST, 7th February. According to Messrs. Dalgety and Co. (Christchurch) wool sold in the Dominion for the seven months ended 31st January, 258,720 bales of wool have been offered '",, m?T 10n and 245,657 have been sold. Ike firm's figures, which are given below do not include the Invercargill sale of 2Sth January, but at this offering 22,244 bales were sold. If this business is added to Dalgety's total, 245,657, a clearance of 287..501 bales will have been made at all centres up to the end of January lne returns on the wool will vary in each centre, according to the character of the wool offered and the state of the market at time of sale; but if the rough but fair average return of £17 10s per bale be taken as the value of the wool sold, then the money distributed so far for wool sold in the Dominion a cheque amounting to £4,688,267 will have been received or will be received by 10th February, the prompt" date for payment on the Invercargill sale. They are based on the returns from the three Wellington sales by this season, which included wools representative of both Islauds, the finer wools of the South Island and the rougher wools of the northern half of the Xorth Island.

Messrs. Dalgety's returns arc as follow:—

O.HG wool onereu aunng January at all centres was 107,414 bales, of which 103,870 bales were sold. The total offerings for the seven months of 1925-20 were 247,641, and of these, as is shown, 226,455 changed hands. The exports of wool from the Dominion for January last wero 105,130 Bales. For the seven months of the wool year, beginning Ist July, 244,253 bales were exported, or 4301 bales less than for the corresponding period of last year.
