PROFESSIONAL CYCLING
All announcement was made on Saturday that a sports meeting for xirofessional cyclists would be held at the Basin Reserve noxt Saturday night. Evidently the officials concerned in making the necessary arrangements had not received advice of the City Council's decision against the application to hold the meeting. It is pointed out that the Wellington Amateur- Athletic Centre is holding an electric light meeting next Monday night at the Basin Reserve, and that a| it is inadvisable to permit two meetings so close together, the application of the local amateur centre lias been approved in preference to that of the }:>rofessional
