la spite of an intense disturbance threatening New Zealand from the west, the weather has remained fine,' With warm, and sultry conditions prevailing in most places. The barometer has risen slowly since yesterday, but the approach of th« disturbance is likely to come a pace. Variable winds will give place to strong westerlies, and a general change is. likely to follow warm and sultry conditions, the West Coast being the first place to get the rain which will probably come.
