EVIL WOMEN ALLOWED
FORMER LICENSEE FINED

AUCKLAND, 4th February. For permitting his hotel to be the habitual resort of reputed prostitutes during December, 1926, the former licensee of the Shamrock Hotel, WaltcJohn Arnold, was fined £10 by Mr. \V. K. M'Koan to-day.
'As ho docs not hold a license at the present time, I cannot endorse it, as I am empowered to do under the Licensing Act," said the Magistrate. A police sergeant said that he frequently visited the hotel, where therewas a room set aside for women. It was always more or less full.
