Ships and the Sea
Dock Extensions at Gothenburg. Improvements and extensions on a considerable scale are taking place at the Gotaverken works, the large shipyard at Gothenburg. A new quay nearly 700 ft long is within a little of being completed, and recently there was launched the fifth section of a large floating dock. The floating docks at Gothenburg belong, actually to a private company, and to the Aktiebolaget Goteborgs Skeppsdoeker; but they are placed at the disposal of ships whenever needed. The first dock with three sections and with, a lifting power of 12,000 tons was inaugurated in 1918.
