At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket, Ltd., the secretary reported the number of shares taken up at 6493, distributed as follow:—Cricket Council, 500; Canterbury Association, 3490; Auckland, 830; Wellington, 1089; Otago, 350; West Coast, 5; Feilding, 54; Wanganui, 53; Hawkes ■Bay, 65; Waiapu, 52; Ashburton, 5. The chairman (Mr. D. Reese) commented on the poor response from Otago, and said that the support which Canterbury people were giving to the project was very gratifying, the shares here having gone up 200 in two days. "I would like to point out that this is purely a business proposition," said Mr. Reese. "Subscribers will stand or fall by the tour. IE theer is a profit the subscribers will share m the dividend. With half the gross gate receipts there is every reason to bs optimistic regarding the financial result." Replying to a question, the chairman said all the members of the team would Ke medically examined on selection.
