The complaint of a family man that he was unable to secure accommodation for his wife and children is supported by various correspondents. "Married Man" states that thousands have had a similar experience. He himself advertised for a house or rooms, and fourteen replies out of sixteen received stipulated adults only. "Ex-Main Body" states his own experience in rooms, which were expensive, inconvenient, and subject to restrictions upon children. He adds his own opinion that the stipulation "adults only" is accounted for in some instances by the fact that people who have the welfare of their children to consider will not tolerate the abuses and lack of conveniences which obtain in some of the places where apartments' are let.
