EIGHT NATIVES SHOT DEAD

(Received 24th January, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. v A wireless message from Bulolo states that a native sub-chief and several other natives, captures in conenction with the recent murders and taken to Salamoa, escaped and returned to Babaul village. A Government party dispatched to recapture them was met by five hundred armed warriors, and compelled to fire, killing eight natives. No further molestations are expected.
