FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND
(United Press Association.—Copyright.) BRISBANE, 20th Jan. i loods followed torrential rains in the coastal districts of Northern Queensland. At one place eleven inches of rain fell in four hours. Trains are unable to complete their journeys owing to the lines being awash. The Bnsbane-Townsville line at Howard was three feet under water, and tho Herbert River is nine feet above tho banks and still rising.
