Many valuable special prizes are listed for the sheep classes at Danevirke Showon 9th and 10th February. There is the 10-guinea Gaisford Challenge Cup for most points in the purebred classes; a 10-guinea challenge cup for most points in Romneyß, and the Hewitt Challenge Cup for best group of three Romney sheep—one two-tooth-ram, one four-tooth ram, and twotooth ewe. This latter is a new class in the schedule. In Lincolns the Gaisford Challenge Cup will be competed for for the tost time, going to the best two-tooth ram. There is also the Southdown Breeders' Challenge Cup. for most points in Southdowns. In the fat sheep section, the size of the classes for sheep most suitable for freezing has been reduced from five to three—an alteration which should meet nJ. i a PProval- Messrs. Nelson's (N.Z.) Challenge Cup goes to the winner of most points in fat sheep and lambs. There are three novice classes open for exhibitors who have never won a first prize for fat sheep or lambs in open classes at any A. and P. Show at time of entry. The Crosse Challenge Cup goes to the winenr of most points in this section. School children up to Standard I. will be interested in class 324. Three prizes are offered for the best plasticine model of any animal, no entry fee being charged. Entries for the show close on 26th January.
