.The following forecast was Issued at 9 a.m. t6-day for the'subsequent 24 hours:— Winds—Northerly, moderate to strong, increasing and backing to westerly, northward of New Plymouth and Castlepolnt; westerly, strong to gale, elsewhere. ■ ■'Barometer—Falling tendency, but rise in the Soiith'after about 24 hours. Seas—Heavy In Foveaux Strait;' considerable on all,the western coast; rough between Castlepoint.and Kalkbura; moderate elsewhere. Tides—Good generally. Warning signals for ."westerly gales are exhibited at Castlepoint, Cape. Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, and Nugget Point. Weather—Warm and humid conditions; unsettled and cloudy, rain following generally, and heavy in the -West Coast >and southern districts; foggy in 'the.-South: * . I). C.
