BATHER FATALLY INJURED
STRIKES HEAD ON SUBMERGED ROCK. : .

AUCKLAND, 2nd January. Severe injuries to the head and back received tlirough striking a rock while diving at Rangitoto Island, resulted in the death at the Auckland Hospital this afternoon o£ a married man, Percy Warbrick (aged 40), of 6, Scotia place, Auckland/ : Ihe accident occurred early on Saturday morning when Warbrick, who was spending a holiday on the island, ent' for a swim. He struck his head on some submerged rocks as he dived, and a, party of Boy Scouts carried him on a stretcher to the wharf at Islington Bay, from where he was taken by boat to Auckland;
He was admitted to hospital at 11 o'clock suffering from a fracture of the skull. .
