DOBSON APPEAL

A SUCCESSFUL DANCE,

Held ia connection with' the Mayor's appeal on behalf of those who suffered as a result of the Dobson mining disaster, tha dance organised by the Waterside Football Club and held in the Town Hall last evening, proved a great success, and resulted in the raising of a substantial-sura of money for the distressed families. All the money received either at the door or for the sale of tickets will go towards the fund, the Waterside Club having most generously guaranteed, to defray any incidental expenses. These should not be heavy, however, the hall having been provided free by the City Council, and. the music, which was really excellent, kindly supplied by the Al IStarita and Dalton's Orchestras. Messrs.. A. E, Turner r and <T. Wellwood were M.C.'s, and Mr, A. Harding, chairman of the club, was :n charge. The Waterside Football Club has to be congratulated on the success of its efforts, and on the spirit which prompted them.
