HOMING PIGEONS
The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society held its weekly, race last Saturday for the championship cup,: from . Auckland, a distance" of. 308 miles.- The first bird was liberated at 4.50. a.m., and the others at intervalsof ten minutes. The weather being favourable, the birds put up gopd ; time. The first bird home'was liberated at 5 cfclock and arrived at 1.42 17 p.m. The results were:—Mr. E. Elliott's ,'bch,' 602W, 1924 (Bhi: 42rain 17sec), 1; Mr.'G.
