SENT TO BORSTAL INSTITUTE
BOY WHO ESCAPED FROM COUR^,

AUCKLAND, 22nd December.
Douglas George Weavers ('(16), who escaped from the Children's.Court on Saturday morning, was re-arrested last night and appeared before the Police Court this morning, charged with the theft of £4 10s.
Evidence was given that Weavers first appeared at the Police Court, where, he pleaded guilty to breaking, entering,- and theft, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. However he had been referred to the Children's Court from which he escaped. He had since visited the city markets, where he stole a wallet from a coat.
On the Probation Officer's recommendation, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., • sent Weavers to a Borstal institution for a term not exceeding three years.
