The ('- and D. Line reports that, the Port Melbourne left New Plymouth last night for Auckland to continue loading for Home. The vessel will also load at Tokomarn Bey. Olsborne. Napier. Port Chamer., and -Wellington. She is due here' on the I7th January, and is scheduled to clear this port Anally on the 29th January for Loudon, via. Panama.

Notice Is hereby given that a submarine telephone cable exists In a direction 130 degrees from a position situated 2900 yards south-west-ward of Korokoro Stream, on the north-west-ern shore of Port Nicholson, to a position on the western shore of Somes Island at .00 yards (approx.) from its northern extreme. The position of each end of the cable la marked on the shore by a post carrying a white equila-

THE PORT BTDHEY.

The C. and D. line steamer Port Sydney, now unloading at Wellington, Isana on Monday for Waikokopu and Naplar, to. complete loading. She is timed to sail finally from the last mentioned port on the 6th January for London, via Panama.

The Union Company advises that the Kaiwarra will now leave Lyttelton on 30l;h December for Melbourne, where she will load early In January for New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, and Auckland.

ROYAL MAIL STEAMERS.

The Aorangi, from Vancouver, arrived at Honolulu yesterday. She Is due at Suva on 30th December, and at Auckland oia 2nd January. The Niagara left Auckland at 6 p.m. on Tuesday for Vancouver, via ports.

The Makura, from San Francisco, via ports. Is due at Sydney to-morrow. The Tahiti, fromv Wellington, via ports, is due at San r/anclsco to-morrow.

ISLANDS .STEAMERS.

Tbe Tofua was to leave Suya ai 4 p.m. today for Auckland. The Kawatirl will leave Sydney on SlSth December for Fiji and Auckland.

The Vlnemoor leaves Wellington - to-day for; Melbourne. The Waihemo loads at Pacific, Coast ports early In February for Apia, Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney. THE GALLIC.

The Gallic, loading at New Plymouth, is to leave there on Tuesday for further loading at Wanganui, Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne, and Wellington. Due. here on 13th January, she is to sail finally on 20th January for London, via Cape Horn.

THE ATHENIC,

.The Athenic, discharging Home, camo at Port Chalmers, Is to leave there on Wednesday to complete discharge at Lyttelton and Napier.

THX BOTORUA.

The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Botorua is now due at Auckland from London at i a.m. to-morrow.

TONGARIRO LOADING.

Tlie Tongariro, at present loading at this port, Is to leave here on Monday for further loading at JTlmaru. Due back her* on Ist January, she Is to sail finally on sth January for London, via Panama.

i THE NORTHUMBERLAND

The Federal Company advlsea that the Northumberland, en route from Liverpool to Auckland, arrived at Carcaras Bay on Saturday last, and sailed the same day for Auckland, where she Is due on llth January. She Is due at this port about 24th January.

COASTAL STEAMEBS.

The Kamo Is to leave Auckland on Wednesday next for Napier, and leave* that port on Friday next for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.

The Katoa is to leave Dunedin to-day for Timaru, and Is due here on Wednesday next. She will later proceed to Auckland,

The Komata is to leave Westport to-morrow for Wellington, and Is due here on Saturday.

The Ngakuta left here last night for Lyttelton, and is due back here again late to-mor-row, i The Kurow Is to leave here to-moirow for Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin.
