DOBSON RELIEF FUND
The. following further donations to the Dobson ; Mine Relief Fund are acknowledged by the Mayor (Mr. C. B. Norwood): Wellington Tramway Employees' Union £20, Church of Christ, Vivian street, £4 lls-Bd, Ist Battalion £2 2s Id, H. E. Geddis and Co., Ltd., Upton and Shearer, and Charles.Haines £2 2.3 each, W. A. G, Skinner, Frank Hurley, and W. C. Watson £1 Is each, P. Fraser, M.P., £1, Miss F. Watson 10s Gd, Public Works. Carpenters' Tea Fund, Petone, Mrs. J. v Mills, and •B.G.C. 10s each, W.M. 7s 6d. The fund now stands at £313 2s 9d.
Nothing calls for more support than tho big jazz night to be held on Thursday, 23rd December, when tho whole of tho proceeds will be devoted to the appeal issued by his Worship the Mayor for help to tho widows and.orphans of the Dobson mine disaster. The Waterside Football Club has tho arrangements iv hand. Patrons of this club's functions know that everything will be provided to ensure a really good night's entertainment. It is tfic endeavour of this club to ensure that every penny taken for tickets will go direct'to the Mayor's fund, and to this end newspapers, business men, and firms arc materially assisting.
