GAMING-HOUSES RAIDED
SEVEN MEN FINED.
Charged with having used premises in Taranaki and Haining streets as common gaming houses, Joe Chong (aged 54), Ngan Yuit, alias Ny Yok (aged 37), and Low Kum (aged 48) appeared before Messrs. I. Salek and D. H. Edgar, J.P.s, in the Magistrate's Court to-day. They were remanded on bail to sth January. Found in common gaming houses at 141, Taranaki street, and at 54, Haining street, when the police made a raid last evening, William Mitchell (50), Henry Craig (49), John Maddock (45), Rex Bernard Dunne (27), Edward Norman M'Nabb (19), William George Greeks (54), and Daniel Anderson (58), were each fined £2.
