HEAVY BOOKINGS AT DUNEDIN

DUNEDIN, This Day. It is estimated that about 9000 people will leave Dunedin this Christfnas by trains for north- and south. The traifie is sure to be a record and new figures will be set up for the number of long-distance travellers. Already this week £2500 more than last year has passed into the ticket, windows at the Dunedin Station. The bookings for the North Island are particularly heavy, at least 15 to 20 per cent, of passengers by the northward bound trains having made reservations for stations in the North Island. The Main Trunk traiii on 22nd, 23rd, and 24th December wero fully booked up somo time ago, and Christmas Day will see thousands. leaving Wellington. It is expected that additional trains will have to be put, on.
