The South Canterbury Jockey Club's Meeting opened in excellent weather. The track is in good order, and there is at-.- representative attendance. Besults:—
. Otaio Handicap, of 150 soys; one mile.—3 Dubious, 10.9 1; 1 Guncase, 9.8, 2; 2 King Abbey, 9.5, 3. Scratched: Sayonare, Sunny Loch. Won by six lengths, ten lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 47-3-5860. Spring Stakes, of 120 soys; five furlongs.—6 AH Colours, 8.8, 1; 3 Tholomon, 8.8, 2; 7 Lady Dilatory, 8.5, 3. Scratched: Thorndale and Bloodshed. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 1 l-ssec.
