FROZEN MEAT.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report hiring received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of the 9th instant:— •
"Lamb.—Market dull and demand runs principally on heavy weights. New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, light 9%d, heavy 7%d; North Island, light 9%d, heavy 7d; Australian, light 9d, medium Bd, heavy 6%d. Market for Australian lamb tending downwards, demand limited.
"Mutton.—Spot market weak; demand better owing to cold weather. New Zealand prime crossbred mutton: Canterbury, light C l-3d, heavy sttd; North Island, light 5%d, heavy sd; Australian; light 4d, heavy 3%d. Market for Australian mutton weak; demand poor.
"Beef.—Market firm; demand moderate. N.Z. prime, ox beef hinds,-4%d; fores, 3%d.
"Pork.—Spot market weaker, nominal quotations average 80/100 10% d, average 100/120 7J/£<l to 9%d; baconers, Bd. Home supplies increasing." . .
