GUARD UNDER TRAIN
STRUCK BY TABLET GEAR,

AUCKLAND, This Day. A guard on a mixed train from Papakura to Mercer yesterday afternoon, Thomas Leslie, of Mercer, met with a painful accident as tho train was draw-' ing out of Buckland station. Ho was leaning out and giving the "right way" signal to the driver when he was struck by tho tablet .exchange apparatus. Tho force of the blow threw him under the train, and he was dragged seven yards. . ■ •
The driver of the train witnessed the accident and pulled up promptly. Mr. Leslie sustained several wounds and shock. Hs had a miraculous escape from being run over.
